At the meeting was Peter Macdonald of Fyne Homes and Mark Ewing, Fyne Homes Lawyer, Janet Crook from Communities Scotland, Fred Robson representing the Community Council, Gordon Gray Stevens of the Scottish Native Woods and David Blair. more> top> |
Parliament considers e-petition on Ecovillages (posted 27th October 2005) A petition relating to planning law and ecovillages has just been submitted to the Scottish Parliament. The petition calls for the publication of Scottish Planning Policy on ecovillages, which should hopefully overcome many of the barriers currently faced by groups trying to set up ecovillages in Scotland. Ecobiz gets a hand (posted 16th October 2005) Ecobiz has been given a Biodiversity award from the Argyll and Bute Local Biodiversity Partnership. The award is given to businesses who contribute to sustaining some of the best examples of biodiversity in Britain. David Blair from Ecobiz was awarded the "Blue Hand" for work in the Dunbeag Project. top> | |
Forestry for People Panel visit Dunbeag (posted 19th September 2005). the 16th of September saw members of the Forestry for People advisory panel visit the Dunbeag Project. They spent the afternoon walking the woods and gardens, seeing what goes on here at Dunbeag. more> top> | |
Forest Village Community Consultation (posted 31st August 2005) The 17th and 18th of August saw the Communities of Tighnabruaich and Kames involved in the Forest Village project for the first time. An exhibition showing the area of the Acharossan forest that might be involved along with information about the current state of the forest. In the evenings meetings were held, Gordon Grey-Stevens from Argyll Green Woodworkers Association was on hand to introduce the project. Kristen Olsen from Reforesting Scotland ran the meetings and ensured that everyone had their say. more> top> |
