The project has always had an educational focus and has been offered as an educational resource to schools, community groups and individuals. Educational workshops at schools and social inclusion centres are run when possible, these have included furniture making, living willow sculpture, musical instrument making, green woodworking and mushroom cultivation. Also, where the local council fell trees in school grounds, a portable saw mill has been taken in to demonstrate timber milling. The timber has then been used to produce playground furniture to the children’s own design. Most of the school projects we are involved in are part of the eco schools initiative.
