AD (Anaerobic Digestion) | We’re hoping to set up a trial digester here at Dunbeag this spring to see if it’s possible to generate a useful amount of Methane gas from forest waste. If the trial is successful, then the data gathered could be used in building a full-scale gasification plant to run a generator. |
Affordable Housing | The building of Croft Houses is central to the idea of Forest Villages, we're in the process of erecting a forestry building that will trial both the design and construction process. |
The Round House | The roundhouse at Dunbeag was built from timber milled in the forest with a mobile mill. Virtually all the timber was growing within 200m of the eventual site, the rest was from within 5 miles. |
Forest Villages | An investigation into whether Forest Villages are a viable proposition is being undertaken at the moment. It is hoped that this will lead to a pilot project in the not too distant future which will help prove the concept works in practice. |
