The 17th and 18th of August saw the Communities of Tighnabruaich and Kames involved in the Forest Village project for the first time. An exhibition showing the area of the Acharossan Forest involved, along with information about the current state of the forest was open for both days. Meetings were then held on both evenings so that locals could be introduced to the project and then voice their opinions on how the Forest Village project might be used to help the local area regenerate. Gordon Grey-Stevens from Scottish Native Woods and Argyll Green Woodworkers Association was on hand to introduce the project and field questions. Kristen Olsen from Reforesting Scotland and Will Self ran various participative exerscises at the meetings to ensure that everyone who came along had their say. In addition, people were approached in the street or in their homes and asked for their opinions. A summary of the information gathered at the community consultation can be downloaded here
