The Community Woodlands Association held their annual gathering at Granton on Spey. The theme was one of "Building a Forest Culture". David Blair of the Dunbeag Project was there to give a presentation on the Forest Village model that is being produced in partnership with Reforesting Scotland, Scottish Native Woods and Argyll Green Woodworkers Association. You can view the slide-show below.

This was a very successful event and attracted a very positive response and was attended by over 100 delegates representing community woodland groups across Scotland. Community Woodland groups are in as unique position being fully constituted community bodies with locally owned and managed woodland. They are therefore in an ideal position to develop community housing schemes using the forest resource for building materials and creating local employment.
