woodland management

The main objective of the management plan is to remove the exotic conifer species and to encourage the woodland to regenerate naturally.

renewable energy

A major part of the project has always been to invest in renewable energy. A solar array and hydro generator have been installed and provide all the power needed.

invasive species

Here at Dunbeag, we are trying to cope with Rhododendron Ponticum and New Zealand flat worm.

compost scheme

For several years the population of Tighnabruaich have been donating their garden waste to enrich the forest garden!

working with schools

Working with local schools to educate pupils on the social, economic and environmental benefits of local woodlands is perhaps the most important aspect of the project.

agroforestry

The project is developing an agro forestry system that could be used by forest crofters.
